CAN OUR CUPCAKES BE CUSTOMISED?
If you want a different buttercream on a particular sponge base, or you would like a specific cupcake case, please just ask. If the flavour is listed somewhere on our website, then just make it clear on your enquiry exactly what combination you would like.
We have included the more popular flavours on our cupcake menu pages. If there's a flavour or type of cake not listed that you're particularly partial to, then we can accommodate depending on the notice period.
All of our cupcakes and biscuits are freshly baked to order - our service is completely bespoke so feel free to send us your design ideas. Contact us via the webpage giving as much information as possible about any bespoke requirements and we can discuss options and provide a quote.
DO SWEET HARTE'S CUPCAKES CONTAIN NUTS/DAIRY PRODUCTS?
Whilst our cakes do not specifically contain nuts (unless stated), they are made in a kitchen where nuts are present and used. We cannot guarantee 100% nut free. Sweet Harte’s products are not suitable for those people with nut allergies.
Our cakes are made with dairy products including real butter, milk and free range eggs.
HOW DO I PLACE AN ORDER?
Once we have received your enquiry, we will email you a completed order form including the quote. Please check that all details on the order form are correct (including any specific requirements/dates/contact details). These are the details we will use to bake your order so it needs to be accurate. If you want to proceed with the order, please confirm in writing by email and make payment.
No date is reserved until you confirm that the order form is correct and we have received the relevant deposit/full payment. Payments can be made by cash in person, cheque (made payable to ‘Sweet Harte’s’) or preferably by bank transfer (quoting your surname on the payment).
HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD I PLACE MY ORDER?
All of our cupcakes and biscuits are handmade in small batches in our home kitchen in Verwood, Dorset, UK. As such, there may be occasions when we might not be able to meet demand. To avoid disappointment, please try to give us as much notice as possible. We will inform you of availability when you contact us for a quote and provide your required date. For larger orders like weddings, parties, christenings, we need at least 3 weeks’ notice.
IS A DEPOSIT REQUIRED WHEN PLACING AN ORDER?
Orders of £50 or under must be paid for in full at the time of booking to secure the date. For orders over £50 we ask for a non-refundable deposit of 50% of the total at the time of booking. Payment of deposit will confirm your booking. The remaining balance is due 14 days before collection, unless by prior arrangement. Orders booked less than 14 days in advance must be paid for in full at the time of booking. Payments can be made by cash in person, cheque (made payable to ‘Sweet Harte’s’) or preferably by bank transfer (quoting your surname on the payment). Payment must be received before baking can start!
WHAT HAPPENS IF I NEED TO AMEND MY ORDER?
If you change your mind about the flavour or design of your cupcakes we’ll be happy to change your order to suit your new request, as long as we have reasonable notice. We expect to receive any alteration requests at least 2 weeks before collection date. This could alter the cost of your order and we will let you know this if applicable.
WHAT IS YOUR REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY?
Should you wish to cancel your order, please advise Sweet Harte’s in writing immediately, at least 14 days prior to collection date. Any monies for orders cancelled with less than the specified 14 days notice are non-refundable and non-transferable. If a cancellation is received less than 14 days prior to the collection date, the balance is due in full. We will return payment for orders under £50 as long as the stated notice period is recognized.
IS THERE A MINIMUM AMOUNT I CAN ORDER?
Our cupcakes are sold in minimum batches of 12 per flavour. We can package these as two boxes of 6 (for a small extra charge) if required.
CAN CAKES BE COLLECTED FROM OUR PREMISES?
We would ask that your order is collected directly from our premises in Verwood, Dorset at the time agreed on your order form. Sweet Harte’s cannot take responsibility for any damage or loss of goods once they have left our premises. Sweet Harte’s will not be liable for any products damaged by the client in transit.
HOW SHOULD I STORE MY CUPCAKES?
Because our cakes are freshly baked daily and made from just natural ingredients they are at their best the day you receive them. Our bakes are best kept at room temperature in the box provided. Alternatively, you can transfer them to an airtight container. Please keep them away from heat sources such as radiators and direct sunlight.
Resist the temptation to put the cupcakes in the fridge – the buttercream topping won’t keep its smooth texture, icing may discolour and cupcake cases may peel. Do not put fondant domed cupcakes or cupcakes with fondant decorations in the fridge as they will melt!
